Search the recorded documents index by grantor/grantee (party) name, document type, book/page, or recording date. The portal requires creating a free account (sign up / sign in); the index is searchable but viewing or purchasing document images/certified copies incurs per-page fees. Records generally extend back to the late 1980s, with some historic records earlier; certified copies can also be requested by emailing probate@madisoncountyal.gov.
The Madison County (Alabama) Judge of Probate is the county's land-records recorder, responsible for recording and maintaining real property documents such as deeds, mortgages, liens, and plats. The official page (madisoncountyal.gov/departments/probate-judge) describes services and links to an online Recorded Documents portal hosted at madisonprobate.countygovservices.com. The public can search the recorded-document index online after creating an account; viewing or obtaining copies of document images requires per-page fees. Copies can also be requested by email or in person at the Madison County Service Center in Huntsville. Property assessment/valuation data and GIS parcel maps are handled by separate county offices (the Tax Assessor and Public Works GIS), not the Probate Judge.
