From the official probate page, choose "Access Probate and Land Records" (or go to the altags.com/Macon_Probate portal) and select "Look up Land Records" or "Probate Case Records." Land records can be searched by grantor/grantee name, document type, recording date, and book/page or instrument number; probate case records are searched by party name. Only records recorded on or after June 3, 1997 are online; older records require an in-person visit or a mail-in request (call 334-724-2611 for fees).
The Macon County (Alabama) Judge of Probate operates the Probate Court and Tag Office at 101 Rosa Parks Avenue, Suite 101, Tuskegee, AL 36083, with its official website at maconalabama.com. The public can search the county's recorded land records (deeds, mortgages, liens, plats) and probate court case records online through the county's altags.com portal, which is linked from the "Access Probate and Land Records" page; online records date back to June 3, 1997. Records recorded before that date are not online and must be obtained by visiting the office or submitting a mail-in request. Property assessment, parcel/GIS, and tax data for the county are maintained by the separate Macon County Revenue Commission, not this office.
